Virginia from the Blue Ridge
One of the great challenges for an artist, at least for me, is to capture the feel and colors of a particular area. And sometimes, that challenge is all I need to develop a painting. Regardless of my reason for the painting, though, I know that I've been successful when someone viewing the painting can identify the location without any help from me. As the title states, this painting is a view of the Virginia landscape from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Now, I have to wait to find out if viewers can recognize the painting's subject before I have to tell them.
