Sparrow
You can tell my status as a birdwatcher is as an amateur
from the title. There are dozens of types of this species
and this drawing depicts the one most common to my yard.
But, while I have several bird books showing wonderful pictures
and descriptions, I'm simply unsure of which one comes to
visit us. This much I do know, this little bird can eat you out
of house and home. Most of our birds will come to the feeder,
eat or take one of the sunflower seeds provided, and then
leave--but not this sparrow. He will take his place on the perch
and eat and eat and eat.
Sparrow is a graphite drawing on 11" x 8 1/2" paper, using
a pointillism technique. The original is for sale as well as a few giclee prints.
