Fish Bandit
Perhaps one of the most tranquil scenes in nature is a heron
wading in the marshes. However, some of the species have
found an easier way to acquire their next meal. At every fishing
dock along the Gulf Coast, dozens of the birds will camp out on
the pilings waiting for the boats to return from their daily fishing
trips. Then, as the fishermen wearily begin to disembark, one or
more of the herons will wait for the opportune moment. And
when it arrives, one more of the birds becomes a bandit as
it brazenly attempts to steal a fish from the catch
being unloaded.
