West Virginia
My wife is the family historian. We often combine trips to
particular places to allow her to study various documents while I
look for inspiration for a painting or drawing. West Virginia has
been the destination for several of those trips. I've come to love
the state although driving on some of the switchback roads
through the mountains can become rather tedious. Somewhere
during those travels, I either found or took a picture that
became the inspiration for my painting "West Virginia". I make
that admission because, while there is a photo in my archives,
I'm not sure I took it. Nevertheless, the colors never fail to
remind me of the area.
West Virginia is a watercolor, painted on 14" x 11" 140#
cold press paper. The original has been sold.
