Forsyth County Christmas
Atlanta, Georgia, usually does not provide a white Christmas.
In 1970, there was a trace of snow, but the last measurable
snowfall on Christmas Day was in 1882. That changed in 2010.
We awoke to gray skies which were coating the ground
with heavy wet snowflakes. Although beautiful, for us
it was a little treacherous, as we were going to one of
our daughters' homes for the holiday.
We cautiously made the trip and had a great time watching our
grandchildren play in the snow that began to accumulate.
As we left that evening, we took several photos of the
nearby farmlands, which became the basis for this painting.
Forsyth County Christmas is a watercolor, painted on
14" x 11" 300# cold press paper. The original is
part of a private collection and not for sale.
